Cardinale Italo Martire and Serpentrax, lead guitarist and bass guitarist of the popular metal act The Black Flame respectively, posed recently for their promotional photos with their favorite guitars, the Gibson Thunderbird and Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Legendary British musician Billy Bragg performed a special live set in the Gibson Guitar Studio in London’s West End. Billy was joined on stage by a number of special guest artists such including Jon McClure from Reverend and the Makers, Sam Duckworth AKA Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Otis Gibbs (currently on tour with Billy),The Mentalists and Kieran Leonard. Billy's set followed the first screening of "Jail Guitar Doors" which documented a year in the campaign’s progress and featured the specially customized Epiphone acoustic and electric guitars. Billy ended with a rendition of his classic hit “New England” accompanied by all girl band the Mentalists.

Los Angeles-based Shiny Toy Guns are back with their sophomore effort Season of Poison, which includes new sounds and their original choice for a female lead ― Sisely Treasure.

Chromeo and Vampire Weekend were both nominated for Woodie Awards. The mtvU Woodie Awards premiered Nov. 19, 2008 on mtvU and mtvU.com. MTV, MTV2, and MTV News also broadcasted highlights from the show. A MTV 1/2 hour "Best of the Woodies" special will include their performances.

Designed exclusively by Florida based visual artists, each guitar has been placed throughout the city of Orlando in front of well known landmarks, sponsor locations and other popular destinations. The guitars will be on display through May 1, 2009.

Gibson signature artist Joe Bonamassa has just announced a one off date at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall on May 4th 2009. The gig was described by Joe recently as being “The gig of my life”. The 5,000 capacity Royal Albert Hall in London has played host to many legendary bands including The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Pink Floyd and The Killers to name a few.

Leading the way as finalists for the 37th CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia is Australian country music icon John Williamson, industry darlings Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson and surprise packet Peter Denahy, who along with all finalists were announced today at a function held at the harbour-side Opera Point Marquee located at the Sydney Opera House. Over 550 nominations were received for the 2009 Awards and the judging process was once again extremely intense.
