Gibson Guitar were proud supporters of “Helping The Heart of Music” a celebration marking the 75th Anniversary of the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. A host of stars performed on the famous Royal Albert Hall stage which saw a very special headline set by 70’s super group The Faces. The Faces were one of the best loved, most influential, British bands of all time. They evolved from the Small Faces in 1969 after Stevie Marriott left to form Humble Pie.
The original Faces line-up read Ronnie Wood (guitar), Kenney Jones (drums/percussion), Ian McLagan (keyboards), Ronnie Lane (bass) and Rod Stewart (lead vocals). Now after 37 years the band reformed and for one night only to help a cause very close to their hearts, The Faces are back. Arriving to a rapturous reception, the three original members minus Rod Stewart, supported by former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman on bass performed three of their best known hits, 'Cindy Incidentally', 'Ooh La La' and 'Stay With Me' in a way that only the Faces know how.
The full concert line-up read as follows: Jan Akkerman, Melanie C, Paul Carrack, Kiki Dee, Chris Difford, Andy Fairweather Low, Georgie Fame, Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall, Mark King and Mike Lindup (Level 42), Lee Mead, Mark Read, Martin Taylor, The Faces, Rick Wakeman and Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings.
The PRS for Music members Benevolent Fund is a registered charity which helps and supports musicians, songwriters, composers and their dependents, wherever they are, by awarding grants or loans. It offers a lifeline in times of financial stress and, in doing so, reinforces a very real and much needed sense of community. With the rapid growth of the music industry it is anticipated that in the coming decades the fund will prove particularly vital for many.

In addition to the concert there is an online charity auction with a host of fabulous prizes to bid for which include a very special Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Standard signed by The Faces as well as a Gibson SG guitar signed by all other performing artists. Both guitars were generously donated by Gibson Guitar.
