Orlando, FL—November 25, 2008— Gibson Guitar, presenter of Orlando GuitarTown along with the city of Orlando, announced the availability of the official Orlando GuitarTown map. The map, which details the location, sponsor and artist of all 36 ten-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars, can be viewed at www.orlandoguitartown.com. Designed exclusively by Florida based visual artists, each guitar has been placed throughout the city of Orlando in front of well known landmarks, sponsor locations and other popular destinations. The guitars will be on display through May 1, 2009.
The Orlando GuitarTown project is a public arts project featuring ten-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars and a series of regular size showcase Epiphone guitars painted by local and regional visual artists. The project unites the Orlando art, music and business communities and will benefit local charities.
An all-star live auction benefitting local charities hosted by world renowned Juliens Auctions will take place in mid-2009. The four beneficiaries include The Downtown Arts District, Parramore Kids Zone, the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness and Page 15.
